Dokk builds your registrars', MOs' and consultants' on-call roster: every position filled, weekends and public holidays shared fairly, and swaps that actually reach the roster.
Free for public hospital departments · No card needed · Up to 60 people
A registrar or MO makes the roster in a spreadsheet, on top of their own calls, and redoes it every time something changes.
Weekends, public holidays and 1st versus 2nd call are argued over from memory. Nobody can show who has done more.
A swap is agreed in WhatsApp and never reaches the roster on the ward. The official copy is out of date by the second week.
One person sets it up. Everyone else joins from the department's WhatsApp group, on their phone.
Sign up and add your call positions. With a government email address you start straight away; otherwise we check your hospital first. A colleague can help as a second scheduler.
Share one link in the department's WhatsApp group. Each person picks their name and marks leave and the days they can't work. No accounts.
Dokk fills every call, sharing weekends, public holidays and each call position fairly, and keeps to the rules you set. Tweak it, then publish.
Everyone can see how calls, weekends and public holidays are shared, so the roster-maker isn't left defending it from memory.

Private practices pay; public hospital departments don't. Only the person who sets it up needs an account.

Nothing. On Call is free for departments in South African public hospitals, for up to 60 people, with no card needed.
Registrars and medical officers become the specialists who run practice rosters later. We'd rather you know Dokk when that day comes. Private practices pay; public hospital departments don't.
It helps, but you don't have to have one. If the person setting the department up has a verified government address, such as name@westerncape.gov.za, it starts straight away. If not, they tell us which hospital it's at and we check it first, usually within a working day. Everyone else opens the department's link and picks their name, without an account.
There's nothing to buy, so there's no tender or invoice. The roster holds staff names and dates, much like the spreadsheet or WhatsApp group you use now; check with your head of department if you're unsure about your hospital's policy.
It's free a year at a time. Near the end of the year, whoever runs the roster renews it in one click with a government email address, or we renew it for you. If nobody renews, the roster becomes read-only and nothing is deleted.
The free plan covers On Call. Theatre Lists is part of the practice plans, since it works with surgical lists rather than staff rosters.
No. The roster holds names, dates and calls, nothing about patients. Security and privacy
